Coming from a diverse background provides me with the needed skills to be interested in different cultural sittings and interact with people from different cultural backgrounds. I am originally half Middle-Eastern, half European, and I have moved to the United States at age sixteen. It was very difficult in the beginning; to learn a new language and to adjust to a different culture. My passion for languages has given me the flexibility to learn more languages, especially the romantic languages. Moreover, I have always been interested in foreigner languages, but after years of taking Spanish classes, both in high school and in college, I would have to say that by far, Spanish is my favorite language, which also led me to major in it, at California State University of Monterey Bay. Although, living in California has provided me the opportunity to practice Spanish, since it is the second spoken language in the state, I loved to expand my knowledge and to indulge in the Spanish culture and its exotic traditions. Moreover, my fascination with Spain, from its exquisite culture and to its rich history, begun at a younger age and it is still growing. I had the opportunity to interact with the native speakers in the target language. Also, the idea of taking a variety of subjects in the Spanish language is rather intriguing, and it tremendously helped enhance my Spanish linguistic skills. Also, studying abroad, helped open up many doors for me in terms of my futuristic goals, such as in teaching Spanish or bilingual translating, from Spanish to English or Arabic to Spanish and vice versa.
